“Seasons of Soil” Permablitz with the Quadrangle – 7th June 2014

Ever been to a permablitz before?
Want to see how permaculture thinking can influence a forest garden?

Come on over to Kent for this free event hosted by Natural Flow supporting The Quadrangle Trust‘s “Seasons of Soil” programme. We will be introducing the ever evolving forest garden, The Quadrangle Trust itself, sharing food, and enjoying a summer evening dip in the river. We are planning to bring more permaculture design thinking to this wonderful rural site only an hour from London with this permablitz and beyond so do check back for more details.

Our focus for the day will be the themes of forest gardening, soil and fertility. We will be working with our hosts, mother and daughter team -Deborah and Jessie raising the awareness of The Quadrangle Trust as a hub for the local community. The intention for the day is one of community action, fun and new learnings, so come on down and make some new friends.

The programme of events will look like this:

Morning Session 11AM START

  • Introduction to the day and a welcome cup of tea or coffee
  • Walk around the grounds explaining the history of the Quadrangle
  • Tour of the forest garden and an explanation of how permaculture has influenced the design

  • heavy lifting for those of you looking for a green gym workout

Escape the city, take a short train ride to Shoreham in Kent, to the idyllic Darent valley. The Quadrangle Trust has lovingly restored the original farmhouse buildings developing a peaceful and tranquil atmosphere for retreats also serving as a centre for local community events. The trust is establishing a diverse and abundant 2 acre forest garden while its vegetable garden, orchard and bee hives are happily producing already.
